Following a quiet Friday, girls volleyball, girls & boys soccer playoffs continue with quarterfinal round play through the weekend. Canon-McMillan and Peters Township boys both lost in their 4A quarterfinals. Charleroi and Chartiers-Houston girls lost in the 1A girls quarterfinals. Canon-McMillan girls, Bentworth & Charleroi boys have soccer semifinal matches set for Monday. Trinity volleyball won the opening set but North Catholic won the next three to win the 3A quarterfinals match. Canon-McMillan will play Seneca Valley in the 4A volleyball semifinals early next week. Louis Liberatore scored on a throw-in for the Canon-McMillan boys, tying the match in the 11th minute, but North Allegheny scored the next 5 goals, eliminating the Big Macs.
