MIAMI (AP) — Traffic citations issued to Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill after a September altercation with police have been dismissed after the charging officers didn’t attend a court hearing. Hill’s tickets for careless driving and failing to wear a seat belt were dismissed after the Miami-Dade Police officers failed to show up for a Monday hearing. The tickets were issued after Hill was stopped outside Hard Rock Stadium for allegedly speeding before the Dolphins’ season opener on Sept. 8. The stop escalated and an officer pulled Hill from the car, forced him to the ground and handcuffed him.

(AP) — Lamar Jackson threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, Derrick Henry rushed for 140 yards, and Baltimore coach John Harbaugh improved to 3-0 against his brother as the Ravens beat Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers 30-23. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles Rams receiver Demarcus Robinson was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The California Highway Patrol said Robinson was cited and released the day after he caught a touchdown pass in the Rams’ 37-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. The CHP said its officers observed a white Dodge sedan driving over 100 mph at about 5:13 a.m. on the 101 freeway. The driver identified himself as Robinson, and he had “objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment,” the CHP said. After his arrest, Robinson was “released to a responsible party.”

A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press left-hander Yusei Kikuchi and the Los Angeles Angels have agreed to a $63 million, three-year contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal, first reported by the New York Post, was subject to a successful physical. An All-Star with Seattle in 2021, Kikuchi was 9-10 with a 4.05 ERA this year for Toronto and Houston, which acquired him on July 30. Kikuchi was 5-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 10 starts with the Astros. He is 41-47 with a 4.57 ERA in six seasons.

LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP) — Dan Hurley fell. So did UConn. Hurley, the often-fiery coach of the two-time defending national champions, was livid over an over-the-back call in the final minute of overtime in what became No. 2 UConn’s 99-97 loss to Memphis in the opening round of the Maui Invitational. The foul was called on UConn’s Liam McNeeley on an offensive rebound in what was a tie game with 40.3 seconds remaining. Hurley dropped to his knees and got a technical foul, and Memphis’ PJ Carter made all four free throws — two for the personal, two for the technical — to put the Tigers ahead for good.

Barkley finished with the ninth-most yards rushing in a game in NFL history, largely thanks to his huge TD runs early and late in the second half. Fort Cherry drove 83 yards in 13 plays, took nearly five minutes off the fourth-quarter clock and scored with less than three minutes to play to beat Clairton, 21-20, and win a second straight WPIAL football championship. Shane Cornali threw an option pass early to Ryan Huey to convert one fourth down and Matt Sieg’s 13-yard scoring pass to Huey capped the drive, also on fourth down to lead the comeback. Nick Massey hit all three of his point-after attempts, the difference in the game. Sieg scored on two short runs in the first half, giving the Rangers a 14-6 lead at intermission. Clairton dominated the third quarter, rushing for nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns to take a 20-14 lead into the final period, setting the stage for another fourth-quarter Fort Cherry rally. After the Rangers took the lead, the Bears had no timeouts and couldn’t move the chains. Eli Salvini sacked Bears’ quarterback Jeffrey Thompson to seal the win. Fort Cherry’s 21 points matched what the Bears had allowed all season. The back-to-back championships by Washington County teams had only happened twice previously: McDonald (1951 & 1952) and Chartiers-Houston (1971 & 1972). Fort Cherry will play District 9 champion Port Allegany in the PIAA Quarterfinals.
Peters Township struggled on the ground all night and turned the ball over twice in the second half as the Indians fell to top-seeded Pine-Richland, 20-9, in the WPIAL 5A championship game. Quarterback Nolan DiLucia managed just 62 yards on 18 carries while three running backs combined for 12 yards on 11 runs. DiLucia connected with Eli Prado for a 23-yard scoring pass midway through the second, giving Peters Township a 6-3 lead. Two possessions later, Pine-Richland QB Aaron Strader found Tanner Cunningham on a deep post pattern for a 64-yard touchdown and a lead the Rams never surrendered. Down 10-9 at the half, Peters Township received the second half kickoff. On the third play of the possession, DiLucia was hit and fumbled with the Rams recovering at the Indians 43 yard line. Four plays later, Strader connected with Jay Timmons for a 22-yard touchdown. Grant Argiro kicked 24 & 47 yard field goals for the winners.
