On Monday night, they overcame the Dodgers for their ninth win in 11 games. Despite injuries to key players like Zack Wheeler, Trea Turner and Alec Bohm, the Phillies ran away from the second-place New York Mets down the stretch and became the first division champion in the majors this season.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Steelers coach Mike Tomlin believes NFL teams improve the most between Week 1 and Week 2. He might want to hope he’s wrong this time around after Pittsburgh stumbled its way to a 31-17 loss to Seattle in its home opener. Aaron Rodgers threw two interceptions, and the defense struggled. Rookie Kaleb Johnson made a costly error, allowing a Seattle touchdown. Tomlin said there is plenty to clean up, particularly on a defense that has allowed nearly 800 yards through two games.
